How many ADAM users out there have tried using ADAM's "moving
window" option? When you're working in SmartWRITER, especially if
you are columnizing a row of figures; you may sometimes wonder if
they are lined-up properly, or in the right position.

A quick and easy way to check, is to go into the moving window
mode. Just press SmartKEY II, then SmartKEY VI (moving window).
The screen will change and you're in "moving window" format. The
first thing you will notice is that you have much better cursor
control. You can move all over the screen. When you move from
left to right, and you get to the end of the line on your screen,
the cursor will keep right on going, and the rest of your line
will come into view. When you go to the left, the same thing
will happen; the lines will move to the right as the cursor goes
to the left. You can jump your cursor up and down on the screen
by using the up and down arrow controls. It's great when you are
doing columnizing with rows of figures. Try it and see.

Some things work better in the moving window (or wide screen)
format, and some work better in the standard format. When you
want to go back to standard format, just press SmartKEY II again
and then press SmartKEY VI (standard format), and you are back in
standard format like you started.

In standard format, what will be one line, as printed out, will
be two lines, on your screen. In moving window format, the whole
line is right there where it belongs, and you can scan it from
one end to the other.

It's nice to have this option just to check things out on
occasion, if for no other reason. I feel sure that you will find
some uses for it. The moving window mode is great for working
with spread sheets, or ledgers.
