                                          STARLINK WARNING: 

I would like to suggest that you carefully log and monitor your calls on Starlink and then very carefully compare your Starlink bill (which will most likely arrive several months AFTER the service) with your records. 
 
In the Feb. l990 STARLINK NEWS, Starlink states among other things the following: 
 
l. Because TYMNET's network is primarily designed and intended for communications between mainframes and terminals, ^Ithe disconnect codes sent from a PC do not always tell the network to hang up the call.  Because of this, you might sometimes see a long call on your statement that you don't recognize.^F^J 
 
2. Commencing in ^INOVEMBER^F^J TYMNET started charging us a telco charge for ^Ialmost every outdial call^F^J made through the network.  They indicate that they will not pass on charges IF they know that the city involved has no telco charge.  However, if they don't know, they will pass the charge onto you whether it is legitimate or not.  You must make a request for credit for each call you feel is incorrect. If you do not, you pay the incorrect charge. 
 
3. In the Novemeber billing (note they are first telling you about this in February) they discovered a problem with the way TYMNET formatted the data.  They regret the error but then blame it on TYMNEWT saying they have no control over the preparation of the data.  When the error was brought to their attention they corrected the mistake. 
 
What all of this is saying is THAT YOU HAD BETTER CHECK YOUR STARLINK BILLS VERY CAREFULLY AND KEEP VERY GOOD RECORDS as they are aware of at least the 3 above problem areas but put the burden upon you to see that you are credited for incorrect charges made to your account. 
 
BE WARNED, BEWARE, BE SMART , SAVE MONEY. 
 
ALWAYS QUESTION EVERY THING ON THEIR BILL YOU DO NOT FEEL IS RIGHT. 
 
Unless you are using the Starlink system for business purposes only, you are a consumer of their product and have rights to have a correct bill, your questions answered, etc.
