I think the coladam list must be the ADAM equivalent of that
mythical streetcorner where everyone you knew would pass. Here's
Gerry again, after lo, these many years. Gerry was, for the
benefit of those ADAMites who have joined us recently, the
founder of the Calgary AB, ADAM user group--Northern Lights,
wasn't it?--and had a lot to do with a few ADAM programs now lost
in the mist, SmartTERM being the only one the mists in my head
still reveal. As well as being a prolific, if somewhat deadline
challenged, writer for ADAM newsletters. His epic review of all
of the ADAM nl's is now nostalgia-provoking; but yes children,
there once were more ADAM nls than one could count, and they came
and went like fireflies on a summer evening. And there may be one
left.

Nice to see you here, Gerry, you should be a good resource for
us, especially if you remember how to debug SmartTERM :=}
As for the CBS ADAM, that's a new one; wasn't the ADAM produced
in England under a different brand than Coleco? Maybe some off-
shore ADAM's made it back to the USA with servicemen, etc.

Dave (ex-Edmonton ADAM User Group nl editor, if your memory
fails you, Gerry)

From Gerry:
No, Dave, my memory might fail me on many things like were I set
something down just the last minute, but not the memories of Dave
Sands, and his periodic visits to Calgary, and the efforts per
the Edmonton Adam Users Group, and your migration to the Pacific.
I remember you well, now that you announced yourself.

But if I had to name all the ADAM associates I have met or corr-
esponded with, it would take a long time to sift through the
catacombs to name half of them. I do have some list in the
archives that I could peruse and wipe away the intervening years.

I appreciate you comments, and fondly muse on the early ADAM
users, but I have not booted mine up for many a year. I would
find a bare counter if the mood were strong and fire up ADDICTUS
or SPACE PANIC, but in my cubby hole, counter space is at a
premium and the ADAMs are in the loft in the garage. An extended
diversion for me now is to see if I can better my time of 164 for
the MINESWEEPER on WINDOWS.

SmartTerm was written by Denny Kehoe, and a fine bit of ADAM
software it was. I did assist in marketing and promoting the
product, but I have no idea how to debug it. It always worked
fine for me, but maybe some later chinks were found in the brick-
work. I have uncorrupted copies if anyone were still using an
ADAM modem.

I do enjoy the evidence of the durability of the ADAM users and
will maintain touch here with all the long standing acquaintences.

literature that I ever received. As I asked before...WHY??? and
